“राज्य की शक्ति उसके सुव्यवस्थित कोष, सुदृढ़ सेना और संतुष्ट प्रजा पर निर्भर करती है।”

“मनुष्य को अपनी इन्द्रियों पर विजय प्राप्त करने का निरंतर प्रयास करना चाहिए।”

“कोई भी काम शुरू करने से पहले हमेशा अपने आप से तीन प्रश्न पूछें - मैं यह क्यों कर रहा हूँ, इसके परिणाम क्या हो सकते हैं और क्या मैं सफल होऊँगा। जब आप गहराई से सोचें और इन सवालों के संतोषजनक जवाब पाएं, तभी आगे बढ़ें।”

“राजा का वास्तविक सुख अपनी प्रजा के सुख में है और उसका हित भी प्रजा के हित में निहित है। राजा के लिए जो स्वयं प्रिय हो, वही आवश्यक नहीं कि उसके लिए हितकारी भी हो; बल्कि जो प्रजा के लिए हितकारी और प्रिय है, वही वास्तव में राजा का हित है।”
